"new" gear

Champaign has this great event twice a year called One Week Boutique. People bring in their gently used baby gear and sell it at garage sale prices. There are over 45,000 items to choose from, so we were able to get Madison's entire winter wardrobe all in one place for a fraction of the price. She loves all of her "new" to her stuff. I think we got 30 new outfits, 12 pajamas, a halloween costume, 3 winter coats, 7 hats, 2 pairs of shoes, 4 toys, 2 dvds, and one book for around $200. That makes for one happy momma and one well dressed baby. Plus, she sold a bunch of her stuff that didn't fit anymore or that she wasn't interested in and has made over $400 to put in her savings account. She's going to have a better savings account and a better wardrobe than me here pretty soon ;).

Madison is MOBILE

So, she's been working on these skills for a few weeks now, but she is finally starting to get the hang of things. Watch out world. I guess it's time to baby-proof the house! 

Nebraska Time

We took a quick trip back to Nebraska for the Labor Day weekend for Rylie's 2nd birthday party and for Brock and Alison's wedding. Every time we get back there the babies are totally different little people. They grow up SO much in between trips. That's just another reason why I love my camera—at least I can capture a little piece of that stage of their lives to remember.

Madison was a champ with the drive (thank you Blue's Clues and Sid the Science Guy, you're a life saver). But, it totally threw her sleep schedule off kilter, and we had a couple of sleepless nights. Mommy is still recovering. She was also finally old enough to be aware of her surroundings... and she TOTALLY loves her cousins. She wanted to be cruising around with them sooooo badly. She'd squeal every time one of them came around the corner and they were great sports about the "grabby" stage she's been in lately i.e. she will put the death grip on your hair, ear, arm, or anything that is near her and hold on for dear life.
